Add your first property and units
Updated June 10, 2026 · 1 min read
Properties and units are the backbone of your account. A property is the building or parcel; units are the rentable spaces inside it. A single-family home is one property with one unit.
- Open Properties in the sidebar and click New property.
- Enter the name and address. The address drives your reports and the per-state rules LeaseRooster applies later.
- Open the property and add its units, one per rentable space. Give each a label your tenants would recognize (1A, Unit B, Main house).
Once a unit exists you can create a lease on it, post a vacancy listing, or log a work order. If you manage a lot of units, add the property first and the units as you go. Nothing else depends on getting it all in on day one.
