Set up late fees

A clear, consistent late-fee rule beats deciding case by case. Set yours under Settings, then Late Fees.

You choose the shape: a flat amount or a percentage, and a grace period so a payment that’s a day late isn’t penalized the same as one that’s two weeks late. Once it’s set, LeaseRooster applies the fee the same way for every lease it covers.

Keep it lawful:

• Some states and cities cap how much you can charge or require a minimum grace period. Set your rule to fit the strictest place you operate.
• Your lease should state the late-fee terms, so the tenant agreed to them up front. The wizard covers this, but check it matches what you set here.
