Your move-in and move-out walkthrough

A condition report is a room-by-room record of the shape your home is in. You’ll do one at move-in and again at move-out, and it’s the best protection your deposit has.

When it’s your turn, your portal walks you through it. Go room by room, note anything that’s already worn or damaged, and add photos. The more you document at move-in, the harder it is to be charged later for something that was already there.

Why it matters:

• At move-out, your move-in report is compared against how the home looks then. Normal wear and tear is expected; new damage is not.
• Photos settle disagreements. A clear picture from move-in is worth more than anyone’s memory a year later.
• Take your time and be honest. This record works in your favor when it’s complete.
